What happens when your vacuum cleaner goes KAPUT?
Your vacuum cleaner is probably one of your hardest working gadgets in your home – so what happens if it breaks down due to mechanical or electrical failure?
There certainly is a chance of it happening. A study* we carried out earlier this year revealed that 15% of people we questioned had their vacuum cleaner go KAPUT on them within the last three years, necessitating its repair or replacement.
Vacuum cleaner insurance
Here at KAPUT Insurance, our domestic appliance insurance makes sure that should your vacuum cleaner break, you won’t be out of pocket.
Simply contact our call centre, or contact us online, to report a problems or breakdown of any domestic appliance you have insured.
In response to that call, we’ll arrange for a fully trained and qualified engineer – and one who has the appropriate CRB clearance – to call to your home and make the necessary repairs.
You may make any number of call outs – within your particular claims limit – and no charges are made for the call out itself, the engineer’s time and labour or any replacement parts that may be necessary. Unusually for any kind of insurance policy, there is not even an excess to pay.
If the engineer is unable to fix the broken vacuum cleaner, your insurance covers the cost of its replacement as new (the amount you will receive for replacement will be up to set limits and depending on the age of the cleaner).
The domestic appliance insurance we offer here at KAPUT works just as well and effectively for any trusty, conventional vacuum cleaner you may be using – whether you have just bought it new, already own it, or have acquired it second hand (so long as it is less than 8 years old).
Insuring all your domestic appliances
Of course, it’s not just vacuum cleaners that are liable to fail. Our survey also showed that washing machines, dishwashers and even irons have all needed repair or replacement in the last three years.
That is why we offer multi-appliance warranty insurance – to give you all round peace of mind.
By including up to a maximum of ten appliances under a single insurance policy, you may earn significant discounts on the cost of cover for each item, whilst a single annual payment for the insurance may save you still further money by providing 12 months cover for the price of just 10.
* Research carried out on behalf of KAPUT February 2016 by Usurv.
In a press release we issued earlier this year KAPUT warned that as many as 70% of consumers failed to appreciate the way in which warranty insurance works and that the age group most likely to have this gap in their knowledge are 45 to 54 year olds.
